Facebook violates my standards

So today i woke up and got this message from Facebook saying that one of my shares, from September 2017, violated their “community standards.”

So i went and found the original tweet and re-shared it a few times because fuck Facebook, that’s why. Here it is:

See that part where the sexy shit is cropped out, toward the bottom? That’s it. That’s literally all there is. So a guy without a shirt, and rebellious talk against His Reviled Reptilian-ness Ted Cruz.

And so Facebook reviewed it. And reviewed it again. And again. And again. And every single motherfucking time, they said NO:

But, see, here’s the thing: Facebook’s reviews of content is the most inconsistent thing in the world. To wit:

So what can we infer from this? It seems as though they’re okay with [dumbass biker-porn] female nudity, self-harm (seriously, that video was of a guy cutting the shit out of himself), and people trying to sell shitty pills (for context, the guy had obviously stolen the drugs – shitty “diet” pills – from the dollar store where he worked). But if there’s an inference of sex or porn – or just speech going against a universally loathed Republican? – then they will bring the hammer straight the fuck down.

Marijuana vs. Alzheimer’s: FIGHT!!

Marijuana May Slow Alzheimer’s

THC, the key compound in marijuana… blocks the formation of brain-clogging Alzheimer‘s plaques better than current Alzheimer’s drugs.

Janda’s team found that THC blocks an enzyme called acetylcholinesterase, which speeds the formation of amyloid plaque in the brains of people with Alzheimer’s disease.

The Alzheimer’s drugs Aricept and Cognex work by blocking acetylcholinesterase. When tested at double the concentration of THC, Aricept blocked plaque formation only 22% as well as THC, and Cognex blocked plaque formation only 7% as well as THC.

I’m not a marijuana smoker, but I do believe that it is just plain stupid to maintain its currently illegal status. We smoke cigarettes, which do nothing for us but kill us in the end, or at least reduce our life span; we drink alcohol, which makes us stupid and often violent, impairs our reflexes, and causes cirrhosis of the liver. Cannabis has shown time and time again that it is a valuable plant which should absolutely be legalized. Having had a great grandfather who had Alzheimer’s, I’ve seen first-hand what a truly horrifying thing that disease is (note: not “can be,” it simply “is”). If there’s a better-than-with-current-drugs chance that I may be able to stave off the potential onslaught of a slow, mind-reducing, soul-killing, life-crushing disease like that, I may just start toking myself. Better yet, I may start eating the stuff. Trust me, there are very few things worse than dying over a period of several years from a disease which eventually completely eradicates all memory and personality from a human being’s life.

Screw glaucoma (which I may one day develop as well), I want to see more research on this!

Texas “justice”?

Texas teen smokes pot while on probation, gets life sentence while a well-connected killer smokes crack and is no longer even on probation. Same judge. Judge Keith Dean, of Dallas, to be precise about it.

Why this disparity of justice? Or is there disparity, in the eyes of the man charged with interpreting the law?

Judge Dean, a widely respected 20-year veteran of the Dallas criminal bench, said he wouldn’t discuss the two cases because he might have to rule on them again someday. In general, he said, he tries to evaluate “the potential danger to the community” when someone violates probation “and what, in the long run, is going to be in the best interest of the community and the person themselves.”

Meanwhile, the kid, 16 years older now, has tried to commit suicide and where is the outcry, i ask you?

WoW says no GLBT recruiting, then backs off. A nearly surreal look at how/what mainstream straights actually think regarding gender issues.

Rev. Magdalen, SubGenius, is losing a custody battle – just because she belongs to a weirdo UFO-centric fringe cult. Now if that ain’t American as Jesus pie, i’m not sure what is. Actually, i’m really not sure what is. Regardless, her involvement with this satire group – of which i am a card-carrying member – is absolutely protected by the Constitution, and does NOT make her unfit for her motherial duties. WTF.

Allan Kaprow, inventor of the “Happening,” R.I.P.

Ernest Angley, plus god, will cure you of AIDS. Or rather, he will make your poor, undereducated community believe that he has, thereby increasing the virus’s exposure potential. Another sad, pathetic bastard (and from Ohio, oh lord) wrecking our world through ignorance and lies.

Israeli soldier murders journalist. From a related BBC News story:

“The inquest has heard that Mr Miller approached an armoured personnel carrier, carrying a white flag which he shone a torch on, calling out that he was a British journalist and wearing a helmet marked TV. He was shot in the neck, unprotected by his body armour.

He had been attempting to ask for permission to leave the area.”

So, yeah, just keep on supporting Israel, all you Left Behind-reading end-times obsessed know-nothing Revelationist fuckwits.
