The CNP’s Hostile Takeover of the GOP

This is part of an ongoing series highlighting some of the best political commentary from Reddit. Content skews to the left, because — as they say — facts are inherently liberal. All credit for this content goes to the original author. For more great content like this, check out the Reddit category or tag.

In 1981 the Council for National Policy was formed. A bunch of hard-right republicans basically made an easy channel for extremely religious, wealthy, or super conservative politicians, elites, or news outlets to have major influence in the US over the GOP as well as some influence from abroad.

This group has shown to be involved with some of the Russian elites as well, even from it’s early days. In 1997 the Foundation for Geopolitics

was written by Aleksandr Dugin, which has had huge influence over Russian government, elite, and it’s police force.

All the major players on Trump overlap with CNP. Highly influential members have included Patrick Pizzella (Tied to Russian oil business in the early 90s), Kellyanne Conway (Husband tied with Russian bribes), Becky Dunlop, and Ed Meese.

The four of them started Conservative Action Project in 2008, highlighting almost every action Trump takes, all his obsessive vendettas against Obama were started in this group.

They are also some of the largest, most vocal opponents to the Mueller investigation.

Oh, and will you look at that, one of it’s previous members was David fucking Bossie. The guy is the president of Citizens United

. So after Citizens United V. FEC suddenly all this dirty money could start getting funneled into the US politics unchecked.

This group has been heavily influencing the GOP for a long time now, and even if some of the establishment republicans may be pushing back, I assure you, they are well infiltrated by this powerhouse.

The CNP biggest backer is Robert Mercer. He’s also the number-three Republican/conservative megadonor on the group’s list of disclosed donors. He made headlines as the largest benefactor of the “Make America Number 1” super-PAC, at $15.5 million donated. The PAC employed both Stephen Bannon and Kellyanne Conway.

Breitbart CEO Larry Solov revealed he owns the site, along with founder Andrew Breitbart’s widow, Susie Breitbart, and the Mercer family.

‘No other donor has come close to the impact that the Mercer family has had in building the foundation for’ — what he calls — ‘the Trump revolution.’”

—Steve Bannon

Mercer basically owns the party, the propaganda, and CNP.

So when it boils down to it we see who really controls the GOP. Trump is just a tool for them. Ties to Russia are mostly though them, not necessarily exclusively though Trump.

It is entirely clear to me that everyone isn’t “protecting Trump” around Trump, they are protecting their entire establishment from the ground up. If he falls hard enough, they all fall with him.

Alternatively, if everyone hyper focuses on Trump only, they all get away with it, and only one stooge takes the fall.

EDIT: Please take this with a grain of salt. I did not expect this to get as big as it did.

I am by no means an expert, and this is conspiracy theory-level stuff. I keep feeling like current political events keep feeling like a conspiracy novel manifesting itself, however remember there could be far more factors at play that I am not educated on, or the connections could be weaker than I realize. I highly encourage that people criticize points, share what they know, and either add points, remove points, or outright destroy what I’ve come up with!

Also, I want to emphasize, I see this scenario as meaning the CNP did a hostile takeover of the GOP as well. A reminder that the right isn’t some enemy, but could be a victim of the CNP with their help from Russia. Don’t look at other americans as enemies, we’re all in this shitshow together, and even if some are being… well, far from their best, they were then a victim of the same entity as everyone else.

This is her latest home on teh internets - where jae stores their swear words, when they're not hurling them at the sun in vain.
