playing peek-a-boo with ghosts at the edge of reality

i forgot to mention this yesterday. it broke my heart.

apparently, my grandfather had been asking about where his dad was, who died over twenty years ago.

and playing peek-a-boo.

my dad and uncle definitely inherited Grandpa’s gift of denial.

This is her latest home on teh internets - where jae stores their swear words, when they're not hurling them at the sun in vain.

I wonder if your grandfather has been seeing dead relatives recently and no one noticed. It could just be phantoms from his memories or it really could be more supernatural. *Ponders* It cannot be easy to watch someone die, especially someone who was essentially one’s father.

well, all of his people are out in the middle of the country, mostly Kansas. i doubt ghosts bother with trains and carriages and such these days, what with all the meat traffic buzzing around everywhere. probably too dangerous for them. even if they had lived around here, i’d think it was more of a brain disorder. then again, i’m very skeptical about These Things. not that i’m not still fascinated by cemetaries and stories of “ghosts”, Mister Tomb-Dweller ;)

*Chuckles* Actually, that version of what my last name means is false. In recent years, I’ve been a big fan of it being translated as “of the Count” just because it is a more interesting story. *Winks* I was just offering a theory, the possibility that your grandfather’s memories might be revisiting him. He may be seeing people like his parents or others who have been dead for years. Actually, I remember reading about older folks needing a great amount of time dedicated to recalling the distant events of their lives. It is something of the mind’s way of preparing for the end of a lifetime. Not all spectres need to be supernatural in origin. *Hugs*
