let’s get rid of feminism.
i’m serious! let’s get rid of it!
frankly, i’m sick of it. or rather… well, let’s break it down:
at the heart of feminism lies its core (duh). it’s tough as dirt, and hardened. but in 100 years this core has been whittled down to just a shade of its former self.
the core of feminism is the need for feminism.
and that’s the part we need to strike a death blow to.
the need for feminism is still alive, but not very well. women today can do an awful lot. things are still a little restricted, but by and large, women are really very very close to being on truly equal footing with men. there’s still some discrepancy with regards to pay (though i’ve personally never encountered it, never having worked at very high levels of employment such as management and whatnot). and then there’s the bazillion reasons men give women to hate them, including, but not limited to: their aggression against or toward women, their blatant and ubiquitous verbal sexism, their constantly seeking to put women in humiliating positions socially, et cetera, et cetera…
having said that, i think we’re near the end of this scourge. the scourge of feminism. the scourge of the neccessity of feminism. the scourge of sexism itself. it’s damn near over now. you can smell the very death of male-chauvanism in the air! it is high time we deliver our most devastating blows to quell this foul beast once and for all time, and lay feminism to rest forever.
(it should be quite clear that i am primarily speaking of Western feminism, and even more specifically, American feminism. the rest of the world still needs feminism desperately.)
once we’ve killed the need for feminism, we can start focusing on other things. and cease exalting a class of people based on something so arbitrary as gender.
